Spring Training Fun in South Florida
Spring training is a series of practices and exhibition games preceding the start of the regular season. This important training period allows new players to try out for roster and position spots and gives established players practice time prior to competitive play.
Spring training is also a great time for fans to watch their favorite teams warm up for the season, especially as so many national teams and players choose to practice right here in the Sunshine State. Folks come from all around the country to see their heroes play, and there are some awesome practice grounds and programs for tourist and locals to enjoy.
JetBlue Park in Fort Myers
Boston Red Sox
JetBlue Park in Fort Myers is the Red Sox spring-training stadium. The stadium is just like a smaller version of the Red Sox’ very own Fenway Park and just a long fly ball away from the airport. Unlike beautiful Boston, we have the sunshine all year round, meaning that hardened Red Sox fans are always more than happy to travel south for their annual spring pilgrimage.
Minnesota Twins
Just 10 minutes down the road from the Twins regular home at Hammond Stadium, Fort Myers training ground is super easy to access for Twins fans from around the state and the country. Miles and miles away from the madness of Orlando and Miami, ball fans can spend the day watching their team, then take in the stunning sites and secluded beaches of the Gulf Coast.
