Host A College Football Rivalry Party

Football is arguably America’s biggest sport, and the college football season is one of the most highly anticipated sporting events in the country. Part of football’s appeal lies in the adrenaline, competitiveness, and bonding with friends. Nothing improves the football watching experience than having some good company over. American football has been played since the late 19th century, and in its rich history, some strong rivalries have developed. Games against rivals add to the competitiveness and this just makes it more fun. When hosting a college football rivalry party, where your team is playing one of its fierce rivals, you need to provide the perfect atmosphere for you and your guests. Here are four tips on how to do so.

  1. Get the food menu right

One of the key ingredients in a football watching party is the food. When deciding on how to feed your guests, you should ensure that the food you are offering can be consumed while watching the game. Under normal circumstances, watching your team is an emotional experience. This level of emotion is further amplified when you are playing a hated rival. You should ensure that you get finger food which can be eaten by hand. You need to have as few eating implements as possible; you don’t want your TV to be destroyed by a fork thrown in anger. Your menu should also appeal to your guests universally; go for ‘common’ food items that (almost) everyone enjoys such as chips, chicken wings, ribs, etc.

  1. Have enough drinks for your guests

The thought of having a rivalry football party without drinks is almost sacrilege. Drinks are what make (or break) a football party. As a diligent host, you should make an effort to understand the preference of your guests in terms of their preferred drink. If you are not able to cater to every person’s preference, you can make a fruit punch. Adding food coloring to the punch to match your team colors is a good way to show solidarity with your team for a rivalry game. Ultimately, quantity trumps quality when purchasing drinks for a football party. You should ensure that you have enough drinks for the game, and any possible post-match celebrations. Also, you should have enough non-alcoholic drink options for the guests that do not consume alcohol.

  1. Ensure that you provide a good viewing experience

When organizing a football rivalry party, a lot of hosts focus too much on the food and drinks, forgetting to improve the viewing experience. You should ensure that your guests enjoy watching the game. If you are expecting a lot of guests, then you might have to re-arrange your furniture or add some more furniture to ensure that everyone will be comfortable during the game. You might have to re-position your television to ensure that all your guests can view the game.

  1. Show your team colors

Watching a rivalry game is one of the most intense experiences for any sports fan. You need to ensure that you set the atmosphere just right to enjoy the game. Part of your party budget should be dedicated to ensuring that your décor shows your support. You could get a few team posters in the viewing room or possibly use team branded cups for the drinks. Depending on your budget, you should try to decorate your space with your team’s colors and/or merchandise.

With these tips, you can have a rivalry viewing party that will live long in your guests’ memories.

South Florida Bounce Has You Hopping in April

From the jelly beans to the colored eggs, Easter Sunday has always been a favorite celebration for both families and friends in the South Florida area. The weather is still perfect for outdoor activities such as egg hunts and picnic style parties. This is also the time of year when people are planning their summer and fall parties. In this week’s blog, we help you think of ways to keep the month of April hopping to get your through your party celebrations without messing up one ‘hare!’

First, be sure to decorate with lots of love and pastels. Stop by a place like Michael’s crafts or drop into Pinterest to get fantastic decoration ideas for your home or office. If you get a head start on things like hanging up wreaths and floral arrangements, you’ll have more time to enjoy the décor.

Remember those who are alone or elderly. This holiday doesn’t have to be spent only thinking about chocolate bunnies and peeps. The real PEEPs are the ones who need you most. Stop in and visit one of your neighbors by bringing them a special treat or a cute little gift and watch how much your heart is warmed. Let this time be peaceful and joyous as a little lamb by doing good things for others.

Next, plan the perfect family meal. While ham and scallop potatoes are a tradition in some households, your party doesn’t have to include those items. Get creative. Don’t forget the holiday champagne. Passover or Pesach Seder is shared by lovely bowls of Matzah Ball Soup and who can’t resist braised brisket? No matter what you serve for your family’s dinner you’ll savor it more with every bite since you’re loved ones are there to share with you.

Lastly, be sure to keep the festivities going with lots of activity. Find fun games other than your egg hunts and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Games such as bunny bowling and making Easter slime can be just fun for your little ones.

If you’re planning on throwing a large party at one of the local parks, be sure to give us a call. We’ve got an extensive variety of attractions to make your outdoor event one your family and friends will always remember.

Retirement Party? Don’t forget the Kids!

It seems that many of us today are constantly on the go. When it comes to planning a party or an event, it makes perfect sense to work smart and not hard. Whether you’re organizing your child’s graduation party or a retirement party for your elderly father, it’s important to remember the kids. Rather than sticking them in another room with their video games, why not open the party for participation amongst all ages? In this week’s blog, we’ve got a few tricks to show you how.

Children tend to get bored easily, and in most cases, parents won’t even want to bring them to an adult themed party. However, today’s society has changed, and it’s more common now to invite the whole family rather than just colleagues and co-workers to such a milestone event. The biggest dilemma and one that is often overlooked is what to do for entertainment? One of our first solutions is, of course, to introduce you to the idea of having a bounce house on site. Whether it’s set up in a front yard or at a park, this is the main attraction amongst both kids and adults.

Next would be a waterslide. Since you live in a place like South Florida, it only makes sense to cool everyone off in the hot tropical weather with a splash of fun. While the children are out having, fun playing in the water, the adults can focus on telling stories about the guest of honor’s accomplishments. Think about it. This is the perfect solution to eliminating whining kids during grandfather’s speech.

Lastly, we’d like to mention; our obstacle courses are an excellent way for adults to participate and compete. As a corporate event planner, you can incorporate some team building skills along with saying goodbye to the employee. Using our many features at your next grown-up party will not only show you’re organized and can handle some pretty unusual tasks, but it will also make you a company hero!

Whether you’re looking to facilitate a phenomenal adult party or one where kids are involved, we have a multitude of solutions to make the day enjoyable for everyone. Contact our staff who specialize in celebrating to make your next party or even a smashing one!

Don’t forget to ask us about table and chair rentals too!

Dealing with the After-Holiday Blah’s

The season has come and gone and now everyone who is blasé with vacations, toys, sweets, etc., is now looking for anything to say those horrific words “I’m bored.” As a parent, these words muttered together with that sniveling whine can make you quiver with angst. What do you do? We’ve got the answers right here in this week’s blog.

Hint, Hint: (of course, we’re not going to tell you to rent a bounce house or anything until the end, where you’ll be looking to put us on speed dial)

There are a million, gazillion, trillion answers online. By visiting places like Pinterest and Parenting Magazine, you can find a ton of great games, projects or whatever else floats your kid’s boat. Here’s a one we found ideal for staying home.

The Fizzy Candy Cane Experiment is totally awesome and a great way to rid your children of cavities. Plus, it’s a science project, so it’s okay. You’ll need the following to conduct the process:

  • Leftover Candy Canes
  • 1 Box Baking Soda
  • 1 Bottle Vinegar
  • Any Color Food Coloring
  • A baking pan that’s deep
  • Measuring Cup
  • Spoons

Follow these steps:

  1. Spread all the baking soda out on the sheet.
  2. Place Candy Canes on top of the baking soda and try to spread them out evenly.
  3. Mix food coloring with a cup of vinegar.
  4. With a spoon have each child drop vinegar mixture onto the baking soda in the pan.

If all goes well, there’s going to be a lot of fizz and the colors from the food coloring plus whatever dye is in the candy canes will create beautiful designs of foamy color. If you didn’t like the idea of this project, let’s move onto the next.

Another idea to keep in your boredom briefcase is local activities online.

  • Take your kids to an outdoor yoga camp for a day.
  • You can do a Google Alert for free events in South Florida or Coral Springs.
  • Consider visiting one of the many museums in South Florida. Check to see if they have any days open to free admittance for kids.

Holiday Carnivals With Inflatable Fun

The holidays are a great time to hang out with family and friends. It’s also an excellent opportunity to visit one of the many holiday carnivals or festivals in the area. Many of our rentals will be out in the South Florida area making kids of all ages happy. In addition to the kids being happy, adults are delighted to know they can rent a bounce house, waterslide or obstacle course to make their event complete. Check out some of the best rentals available for this year’s fundraisers and festivities.

Disco Dome – If you’re guests like music and dancing this bounce house is one they will love. They can bounce to the joyous sounds of seasonal music or their favorite top forty. Whatever the case may be the speakers are enough to be heard in the next county. We know your kids or adults will get a big kick out of this inflatable.

Radical Run – For indoor and outdoor events where kids can let off some steam, consider our Radical Run obstacle course. Equipped with a 25ft slide and almost 90feet long this super rental is phenomenal for child participation. It’s also an excellent way to burn off some calories after eating all the carnival food.

Escape from Alcatraz – This obstacle course introduces several maze type tunnels, and plenty of places for kids to crawl, climb and bounce till their hearts are content. The only thing your child will need after a day of escaping Alcatraz is a comfortable bed! Whether this is a child or adult party, the fun continues for hours with any of our obstacle courses.

Total Meltdown – It seems kids these days stay competitive. Why not let them challenge each other to a complete meltdown that is interactive and gets them from behind the video games. Rather than sitting in front of the TV or computer, they can be a part of the action. This inflatable is ultra-safe and allows up to 8 players. On top of burning calories, this is a game that helps develop skills such as balancing and strategizing.

The Hurricane – Since Hurricane Matthew blew over most of South Florida, we’ve got another hurricane that’s taking its place. The Hurricane waterslide continues to be one of our hottest rentals and is perfect for the hot winter days in SoFlo. We can turn any parcel of land into a featured attraction with this 40-foot-tall monster waterslide. Be sure to book early as this is one of our most popular.

No holiday carnival can be complete without some activity. We provide you with the fun and entertainment that will turn your fundraiser or event into one that is memorable for years to come.

Labor Day Party Nightmares

Labor Day will soon be upon us and like many of you I’m sure you’re scrambling to get those last minute details done before guests show up at your house. We’ve all heard about the pressure of putting together a memorable party, the only tough part, is when the caterer doesn’t show up or the cake gets ordered and sent to the wrong house. Yes, it happens and these stories should be a bit ‘nerve’ relieving. Take a look at some of the stories our readers have shared with us over the years.

It seems that everyone has one of those parties where there’s a ton going on and none of it seems to be smooth. Things getting spilled, people showing up hours late, or whatever the case may be. Don’t you feel a sense of happiness when you find out that even the most perfect person, has a bad day or two?

Jennifer, Coconut Creek: Gwen and Chad were throwing their first Labor Day party since they had gotten married. Everything was special and all was going great until Chad’s stern Grandma, who they called “The Iron Lady” asked Gwen’s 9-year-old son for a light. The youngster quickly ran into the house and grabbed a candle from inside. Once he presented the candle to the elderly woman she took one look at the candle and began to laugh. Puzzled the boy looked at the grandmother and asked “Mam, why are you laughing at me?” The woman stopped laughing and immediately replied “Because I wanted a can of Light Beer, not a Candlelight!”

Gloria Henderson, Margate: Jill was excited to have everyone over, but her mother had been exhausting just to watch while getting ready for their Labor Day/End of Summer Party. Since it was also Jill’s birthday that weekend, she asked her mother to make her no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies for her and her friends. While Jill’s mom was vacuuming she asked Jill to pre-heat the oven to 350°. Jill was curious what else her mother needed to make after she had already gotten everything ready so she decided to ask why her mom wanted the oven turned on. “We need to preheat the oven for your cookies sweetheart” her mother had remarked. “But I asked for No-Bake cookies. What the…?”

Jim P., Parkland: The kids and I were sitting out back when they asked who I invited from my work to our Labor Day party. When I told them my boss and his son they all shrieked in horror, “Oh No, Dad, Not Mr. Vernon’s kid, he pees in our pool” It was seconds after the kids were as white as a ghost, when they realized MR. Vernon, my boss and CEO of the company was standing right behind me. The first thing is kid did. He peed in our pool.

Of course, these are just a few of the stories we hope to make you feel better. At least you know we’re all human. Enjoy your week.

How to Plan an Impeccable Company BBQ with Precision

For your next get together in South Florida, give us a call whether you need a bounce house or other party supplies. We have plenty of rentals.

Call South Florida Bounce for your next event. Now on to some great BBQ planning tips.

What’s the definition of the perfect Barbecue? Well, if you ask most people you’d hear a common answer “Good Food, Good Friends = Great BBQ!” While that may be true, it’s often harder to plan such an event if it’s for the purpose of your company. There can be a little pressure if you’ve been selected at the last hour, but we’re here to offer some ‘pearls of wisdom’ with this on-target checklist.

First, consider the age group of the people that will attend. Is this open to families or just employees? Once you’ve established the age in attendance then things will be much easier to plan.

Next, you’ll want to determine and secure a location. This is something that needs to be done as soon as possible, especially if it will be at an off-site location such as a park or other area. If you plan on including a bounce house or obstacle course for the event, you’ll need to double check with the venue for space requirements but also for permission. Not every park in town allows inflatables and may require additional fees along with permits. Our staff can help you with suggested areas that we’ve been in before.

Now let’s consider the food. Many people enjoy the traditions of hamburgers and hot dogs and while this is a standard commodity at a BBQ, there are some alternatives for you to think over.

Ribs and Brisket can be costly, but there are plenty of places that offer discounts on large amounts of meat. Places like Penn Dutch has specials on party sized platters, but you can consider buying in bulk. Half a Side of Beef is plenty of meat with a lot of variety. Chicken is always a winner too!! Make sure that you hire someone or assign the role of chef griller to someone who’s experienced. BBQ grills can be tricky to maneuver and the number one rule is Safety First! You can always contact a local barbecue catering company to bring the grill to you. This will probably be one of your best plans and will allow you to enjoy the day more. Some other items to kick around would be a hot dog roller and a cotton candy machine if there’s kids joining in.

Seating can be a problem at times if you don’t remember to tell people to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. You may want to rent tables and chairs if the BBQ will be held in a parking lot or some other area that doesn’t have grass and picnic tables. A tent would also be good too for those not wanting to bask in the hot Florida sun.

Keep a first-aid kit with you at all times and make sure you have plenty of bandages and don’t forget to include sunscreen. People often forget to pack certain items that can either make or break a good party. By being the one prepared, you will look like the hero saving the day. Another good policy would be to save the park contact information if you plan your event in a place where you may be in a desolate area.

Unless you plan on sitting around and staring at each other, it will be good to count on some entertainment at the party. If there will be children present, then book a face painter or balloon artist to entertain the little ones. To make the party memorable add a photo booth for people to take more than just selfies. A good picture to have on the company Facebook would be of the gets dunked by his/her staff while sitting in one of our Dunk Tanks. This is a good way to take out your frustrations, but keep it clean.

Last cleanup. Putting together a cleanup crew ahead of time is one of the best things you can do. People generally like to be involved and if you arrange who will be helping before the party, this can be extremely beneficial and all operations will remain a GO! Don’t forget to bring extra garbage bags in the Supersize category as these always come in handy.

This concludes our quick snapshot of how to plan an awesome company barbecue and it took you no time to read. We have a sneaky suspicion that you’ll do great putting everything together and we’re always here to help if you need any advice on party rentals or bounce houses. Best wishes for a Grand Barbecue!
