Recipes the Whole Family Will Love

Putting a meal on the table that your family will love every day is no mean feat. In fact, getting your family to ooh and aah over every meal at dinnertime is actually not a simple thing to achieve every day. These recipes that we will share with you are going to get your family taking Instagram-worthy photos of each meal before the first bite. They are easy to prepare, cook and also to clean up after.

  1. Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon and Broccoli

Which child loves broccoli? We thought so. How about bacon? We are sure all the hands went up with this one. This dish takes the spin on your good old macaroni and cheese by incorporating some broccoli and topping it off with lots of crispy bacon. Make your usual pasta following the package instructions. Then add the broccoli in the last few minutes of cooking the pasta to leave it crunchy and fresh. Next, cook a luxurious sauce with the milk, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, and cheese over a low flame until it thickens. Pour this sauce over your pasta and broccoli with a healthy sprinkling of bacon and serve hot.

  1. Home-made meatball subs

Nothing beats a home-made sub loaded with meatballs, pasta sauce, and creamy cheese. This recipe calls for a simple meatball recipe comprised of ground beef, pork, combined with an egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt and pepper as well as some milk to bring it all together. All you need to do is knead these ingredients together and let the mixture rest for about half an hour before forming your meatballs and shallow frying them in your choice of cooking oil. Finally, using fresh bread rolls, create your subs by placing the meatballs in the freshly buttered bread and top it off with some pasta sauce and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.

  1. Crispy baked chicken tenders crusted with Parmesan

Everybody loves some chicken tenders. How about upping the ante and baking them instead of deep frying them in oil? Furthermore, this dish is made more delectable by the crusting of Parmesan cheese on the outside. Begin by slicing the chicken breasts into long but not too narrow strips. Secondly, create your batter by whisking eggs, Dijon mustard and paprika for a slight kick. In a second shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, salt and pepper and Parmesan cheese for the crunchy coating. Dip each flour-dredged chicken tender into the batter, shaking off the excess and going into the breadcrumbs mixture. Repeat this twice before lining them on a baking sheet and baking them for 5-6 minutes on each side. A fantastic dinner served with a fresh garden salad and Dijon mustard as a dip.

These are just a few of the recipes that are out there that your family will definitely love on any day. Furthermore, for those nights you could just not be bothered to whip up an elaborate meal, you can make these quick yet healthful and tasty fixes. Moreover, the prep time and clean up time for these meals is super quick making it a triple win for family dinner times.

Host A New England Style Clambake

Nothing screams summer like an authentic New England style clambake. A New England Clambake is a tradition that dates back over 100 years and is regularly observed to date during summer. This traditional practice marks the day, hundreds of years ago, when the First European Settlers learned how to cook in a pit, a concept the Native Americans taught them. Today, to be able to host a successful New England Style Clambake, all you need is a sunny and sandy seashore, loads of clams and sausage, corn and potatoes, coal for your grill and a nice grill set-up. Here is how all these play out to helping you host a New England style clambake.

  1. Traditional Style Cooking

Look for a sandy and sunny seashore near you, whose laws permit you to grill in the open near the ocean. Once you have selected a nice spot, you can begin to set your grill up. First and foremost, you have to dig a shallow, oblong hole in the sand. Secondly, line this hole with large stones, on top of which you can then lay your coals. Next comes your wood which you should light and allow to burn for a while, about an hour or two, after which you will rake off the ashes. Lastly, set your grill up on top of some blocks of cinder and ensure that it is stable.

  1.  Loading on the ingredients

A classic New England clambake must comprise of loads of clams, sausage, some corn, and potatoes. Additionally, be sure to have seaweed on which you will pile your ingredients. The trick is to layer the ingredients, with the ones that take longest to cook being placed at the bottom. Naturally, the potatoes or starchy tubers will come first, followed by a layer of seaweed on which you will add the corn, followed by the sausage and finally, the clams.

  1. Cover to cook

After covering the last layer of clams with seaweed, it’s time to throw on a sea-water soaked burlap sack. The cooking will take about an hour, during which all the clams should have opened and the potatoes will have become tender. Remember to pour seawater over the burlap sack as needed during cooking. As you wait to feast on your New England clambake, this would be a good time to enjoy some drink as you frolic on one of our gigantic beach-side water slides.

  1. Serve

Set up your New England Clam Bake on your beach blankets and get ready to enjoy a massive feast whose roots begun over a hundred years ago.

Summertime is a great time to sample and try new ideas such as the New England Clambake as detailed above. Be sure to gather your friends around and try your own clambake, it is such fun and will get you and your friends in on the action. For more fun, contact us to hire any of our mega-sized water slides today. We deal in all types and sizes of waterslides that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

Keeping Safe In The Summer Heat

During summer, you want to make the most of the summer sun before the chilly fall weather sets in. Summer always seems to rush by, and the colder months drag along. Understandably, this would make you want to stay out longer in the sun, getting that tan in as much as you can before you have to pack the shorts away.

As you enjoy time in the sun, be sure to stay safe in the heat of summer. It is likely that one can get sunstroke, heat stroke or even a nasty sunburn if you do not take the following precautions.

  1. Take lots of fluids

During summer, you are bound to lose more water through perspiration than in the colder months. It is wise to keep a cold drink close by and sip from it often; do not wait until you are thirsty to drink. Furthermore, avoid alcoholic and sugary drinks because they can actually dehydrate you! The best drink to reach for is a cool bottle or glass of water. However, you should avoid very cold drinks as these are known to cause stomach cramps.

  1. Stay indoors

What? Stay indoors during summer? Well, when the temperatures are really high, especially in the early afternoons, you should stay away from the direct sun. By staying indoors, you can choose to take your outdoor fun indoors to a mall for some shopping or a movie theatre to catch the latest blockbuster. A few hours in an air-conditioned area will help your body to stay cooler once you get back outside under the sun.

  1. Your dressing

During summer, choose light-weight, airy fabrics to keep your skin free from any build-up of sweat. Furthermore, you should wear clothes that are loose-fitting and have light colors, not dark colors. It is a widely proven fact that dark colors absorb heat while light colors deflect it away from you. Additionally, you should put on a wide-brimmed hat to protect your head, face, neck, and shoulders from the sun’s glare. Don’t forget to put on some sunscreen with a high UV filter to protect your skin.

  1. Children and pets

Keep children and pets in shady areas away from the direct glare of the sun. Ensure that you apply child-sensitive sun-screen on your children before you step out with them. Furthermore, ensure that they are well hydrated by keeping them on fluids continually. Do not, under any circumstances, leave children or pets in a locked car even for a few minutes, this is very dangerous.

If you observe these tips, you are sure to enjoy your summer without rushing to the ER this year. Another great way to keep safe in the summer heat is renting any one of our waterslides which come with a shaded area to protect you from the sun as you keep cool in the water. We have a wide variety of waterslides that can fit in your backyard for some cooling summer fun. Contact us today and we will be sure to provide you with what you need this summer.

Awesome Water Parks Across The USA

As summer approaches, everyone starts thinking about the best way to beat the heat that comes with it, and you should too. You could opt for hitting the local community or even booking in some time at any of the beaches around you. Water parks give a much more adventurous outdoor experience. If you thought that waterslides are only meant for kids, think again because you might be living in the old times.  Majority of modern water parks are designed with amazing and terrific drops as well as crazily looped slides, which offers rivalry to the stomach-testing rollercoasters that you can find in most of the amusement parks around the country. Sounds like a good deal this summer; check out the following awesome water parks in the USA.

  1. Schlitterbahn Kansas City waterpark

If you are looking for the Mt. Everest of water parks, Verruckt Park will offer you just that. It takes pride in being an exceptional park in the USA for several reasons including its sheer height. It can take four riders in one go, on a raft that runs down fifteen stories, and can reach high speeds of 70 mph. Alternatively, you can opt for staying close to the sea level at the Torrent River, which ranks as the only manmade river with the largest tidal wave in the world.

  1. Water World

If you are looking for the best experience in aquatic attractions, then the Water World earns that title. It has 49 attractions, which include the Pharaoh rides and Voyage to the earth’s center. Here, you need more than one day to go round all the waterslides. You will be shot up and over hills by the Mile High Flyer waster coaster. On the other hand, the Screamin’ Mimi coaster gets you into a splash tank from a wheeled sled. The recent addition of the Warp Speed is a combination of virtual gaming and ancient tube slide experience.

  1. Splashin’ Safari

The Splashin’ Safari has two water coasters that are ranked the longest in the world. Riding in any of these coasters will make you feel your heart stopping. It comprises seven drops that start from a seven-story hill. The rafts can spin on their own resulting in a unique riding experience. This water park has several underground tunnels, with drops that keep the speed at a high of 36 feet-per-second. You will definitely have memorable thrill here.

  1. White Water Park

Even though it is considered relatively smaller when compared to a majority of the parks in the USA, the White Water Park beats them all in terms of organization, and its suitability for a family experience. For instance, the KaPau Plummet is an attraction that you cannot afford to miss –a drop-flor slide, which will plunge you down at an angle of 70 degrees. The waterpark has features designed to offer fun to people of all ages.

Perhaps, you are a fan of waterparks and thinking whether they only have to be outdoors. You can have one in your home, or even rent the appropriate equipment from a reliable company such as the South Florida Bounce. In fact, if you are having a party, we have the inflatable waterslides to keep everybody entertained.

VR Fun For The Whole Family

Until a few years ago, many people did not understand what virtual reality (VR) is about. To many people, VR still is a fantasy issue among technologists and storytellers. Other people still consider virtual reality a thing for kids. However, with the advancement of technology, it is now possible to have VR fun for the whole family. There is more fun and enjoyment to anything once it is shared with loved ones, family, and friends. The same principle is applicable to experience and games that could create fond memories and the best way to do this is by participating as a family. So why don’t you gather your family members for VR fun? If you are not sure how to go about it, here are some useful tips.

  1. Invite your family to share the VR fun

One of the first things that you need to adopt to extract the full potential of the virtual reality headset is to have family members share in the joy and fun. Virtual reality gives many opportunities and experiences to everyone. For instance, your family members will love scenic views, sports, or even video games. With everyone having an aspect or two to enjoy from the VR, it will definitely be a great family day.

  1. Bring out a variety of VR headsets

It is not unlikely that some of the family members do not know how to use the VR headsets. As such, ensure that you show them how to use the headset for maximum fun. Lack of proper fitting of the headset can break the fun, which is not something that you want especially in the midst of your family members. South Florida Bounce.

  1. Make sure the VR headset is clean

Keeping the virtual reality headset clean and sanitized is important more so during the cold holiday season. However, cleaning the headset is not a heavy task since it requires simple tools including microfiber cloth and air compressor. The compressor is necessary for deep cleaning, which is recommendable on a weekly basis. Once you have cleaned the unit, use a microfiber cloth to keep the lenses dry.

  1. Have enough games

It can be a daunting task to settle for a game that is fun for everyone. However, most headsets have different types of games. It is advisable to download a couple of them to cater to the tastes and preferences of each of your family members. Make sure that you seek the opinion and preferences of everybody lest you leave some out of the fun.

  1. Personalize the VR space

Most VR headsets come with an option of customizing as well as decorating how things appear once you view them from the headset. Try different aspects of the VR space to make sure that you create the best experience for the whole family. Nevertheless, it is important to note the not all headsets are customizable.

Summer Movies For The Kids

Summer is upon us, school’s out and the kids are home. This is a pretty exciting time for them after months in school. The sunny weather comes with loads of outdoor activities, as well as indoor activities such as watching movies. Movies will give you a break from having to think up fun and exciting things to do all day, plus you can also jump in on the fun.

Below is a list of kids’ movies to watch out for during this summer break, in no particular order of preference. No spoilers here!

  1. Sherlock Gnomes

This animated comedy brings back the legendary detective Sherlock Gnomes. Two garden gnomes aptly named Gnomeo and Juliet hire the services of this legendary detective to look into the strange disappearance of their friends. Sit back and stock up on the popcorn as this is one rollercoaster of laughter you will be riding from the beginning to the end.

  1. The Incredibles 2

The first Incredibles movie premiered way back in 2004, probably way before any of your kids were born. Regardless, this first movie was such a hit that you can be sure your kids will love it. It would be great to have them watch the first movie at home, and then take them to the theatres to watch the largely-acclaimed sequel in theatres this June.

  1. Ant-Man and The Wasp

Marvel Studios never disappoints, and that is the same expectation you ought to carry into the theatres this July when this movie begins showing. The story-line focuses on a super-hero trying to maintain the work-life balance as he raises his daughter and battles a new threat. It already sounds like a perfect way to spend an afternoon in July.

  1. Hotel Transylvania 3: summer vacation

This sequel of the Hotel Transylvania 2 spins off with Count Dracula taking a cruise with his kooky bunch of supernatural friends. As expected, there will be loads of laughs as this eccentric gang gets into all types of situations like when Skeleton loses it at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Meanwhile, Count Dracula channels his affection to a most unusual subject. Expect to enjoy great laughs and thrills; as you while your afternoon away with the kids this July.

  1. Eighth Grade

A welcome change from the animation overload is this thought-provoking movie. The focus of the storyline is on a wall-flower type of girl in 8th grade trying to navigate life despite the many challenges that come with her age. And as if that’s not challenging enough, she is also trying to record the perfect YouTube video. How will that end? That’s stuff that you can only find in the movies this July.

Conclusion

From the expected overdose of animated films to adventure and comedy films, this summer is promising a jam-packed movie session for the kids. Our list barely scratches the surface, but it gives you a picture of what to expect as you break out the popcorn and indulge your summer afternoons and evenings. Happy viewing!

Awesome Gifts For Tween Boys

Boys who fall into this age bracket of 8-12 years old are usually a bit complicated. They are in an in-between age where they don’t consider themselves kids anymore, but they still like to play. Getting a gift for this age-group, and especially boys can prove to be a daunting task. These are our top 6 gift ideas for them, which may give you a head-start.

  1. Nintendo Switch

This is a great gift idea. A Nintendo Switch can be used both at home and as a handheld game. It is literally a game on the go, which is fantastic for tweens. At home, it can stand on its own perfectly on its built-in stand and the controls are detachable for playing on the go. It supports popular video games like Zelda, Super Mario, and many others.

  1. Lego Dinosaurs Kit

Lego is loved by boys of all ages. This gift is a great idea for a tween boy as it comes in a 174-piece set where you can build three different types of dinosaurs. Each of these dinosaurs has a different build and anatomy, giving the boys a wonderful opportunity to get those creative juices flowing. It is also a great gift to build their problem-solving skills and technique.

  1. Tipover Logic Game

This game is a fun gift idea as it aids to introduce the player to the laws of cause and effect, as well as spatial relationships. It is a board game whose path is charted by tipping over three different colored crates; green, yellow and blue using a Tipper. However, the catch is to get there without jumping over the crates or touching the game board with the Tipper.

  1. Bean Bag Buckets

This is a fun outdoor or indoor game which is challenging, yet easy to learn. The game pack consists of a game tower with 16 bean bags, 7 buckets, and a carry bag. The game is a 2 or more player. It works by having different players toss the bean bags into the buckets; the more bean bags you toss into your bucket without missing the higher your score. It is easy to dismantle and pack away.

  1. Drones

Drones are very popular and come in a variety of different sizes and difficulty levels. You can set up the camera to record video and take pictures from high above. Flying a drone is an acquired skill so patience is learned in the process as well as the flying skills themselves.

  1. Comics

All boys love to read comics. This is a sure win with any tween boy. Look for age-specific comics that have a continuing storyline to keep them interested. You could get them a subscription to an online comic line too.

Conclusion

These are just a few ideas out of the hundreds out there to gift tween boys. You cannot go wrong with one of these.
