Bounce Into Summer with These New Inflatables

Inflatables are available for every occasion, from a backyard party or a non-profit fundraiser to a business re-opening. The new arrivals at South Florida Bounce run the gamut from water slides, obstacle courses and combo units to mechanical rides, interactive experiences and carnival games.

One of the great things about gatherings for any reason is the memories it creates. A giant Snow Globe photo booth is an excellent way to commemorate the event. Hosts and organizers can also create a winter wonderland with a foam/snow cannon.

Water Slides

Known for its expansive selection of water slides, there are new options on the roster this year at South Florida Bounce. Individuals can choose from the 22 ft. tall, double lane Bermuda Falls that will deposit merry-makers into an in-ground pool. One side features a rock climb and the other a ladder. For the more adventurous, try the 40 ft. tall Typhoon Water Slide, highlighted by twin lanes. Water slides are available in single, double and triple lanes, depending upon the model chosen – and don’t forget the Polar Bear Plunge.

Obstacle Course

There are multiple obstacle courses that feature 70 ft. of tunnels, barriers to jump, bars to crawl under and other impediments. Multiple themes are available that include the Rainforest Ramage to the Rainbow Run.

Bounce House

No event is complete without a bounce house for the little tykes and individuals can choose from a variety of themes. They encompass the circus, carnival or popular cartoon characters.

Rides and Games

People of all ages love games and individuals can rent inflatable Wack-a-Mole, Skee-Ball or the Velcro Axe Throw. Individuals can try their luck at mechanical bull riding, a Virtual Rollercoaster, outer space interactive adventure, or the Xtreme Board Combo to surf, skateboard or snowboard.

A cash cube is an opportunity that few people can resist and will create hours of fun. Full size lawn games are offered that includes 9-Hole Mini Golf, Soccer Darts and Connect Four. Ideal for children, the Trackless Train is an ideal option for schools and daycares, company picnics, and any event where young children will be in attendance.

Popular Party Themes for Kids

A kid’s interest can seem to change from day-to-day and a themed party that brings elements of their favorite things to life is a surprise that any youngster loves. The following are some of the most popular themes for kids age 5-8. Parents can use their own judgement should their child have different interests.

A memorable and fun party doesn’t have to cost a fortune. There are dozens of dollar stores that have everything from disposable plates and balloons to banners and other types of decorations. It’s easy on the budget and even enables parents to send home a goody bag with the kids.

Amusement Park

There’s a wealth of age-appropriate inflatable amusements available to keep kids busy ranging from water slides to bounce houses, many of which feature themes ranging from fairy tales to race cars. Carnival type games encompass life-size board games and mazes to skee ball. In keeping with the amusement park theme, parents can rent cotton candy, popcorn, snow cone, and hot dog machines.

Let It Snow

The cold, white precipitation is a rarity in Florida and snow machines can be rented to transform a yard into a temporary winter wonderland. Add snowflakes, snowmen and similar decorations to round out the theme.

Bubble Blowout

Kids of all ages love bubbles and in addition to bottles so they can blow their own, consider renting a bubble machine. The kids can run through them and play make-believe to their heart’s content. Instead of a large birthday cake, think about cupcakes that are easier for little hands to handle.

Superheroes

Have the kids attend in their favorite superhero costume. There’s no shortage of superhero decorations, cake toppers, and craft ideas that kids can make at the party.

Glow-in-the-Dark

This is ideal for a late evening party. Kids are fascinated by anything that glows in the dark. Set the tone with glow-in-the-dark jewelry, glowsticks, swords and hanging decorations. Parents can purchase napkins, tablecloths and goody bags that glow in the dark, and there are even edible lollipops that glow.

Bounce House 101: What to Consider Before Renting

Bounce houses are one of the most popular inflatables for children’s parties, business promotions, fundraisers, and special events. Since their creation in 1959, they’ve been a continuing source of happiness for children. Most people only think about the fun factor when renting a bounce house, but there are other things to consider.

Cleanliness

Sanitation is always a primary concern and that’s especially true in an era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rental company should employ a stringent cleaning routine using anti-bacterial and anti-viral formulas. The company should also be willing to wipe down the bounce house after it arrives.

Children’s Ages

To maintain safety protocols, bounce houses are designed for children ages 3-12. Children under the age of three can have problems exiting the inflatable on their own and youngsters over 12 may be too tall or heavy for safe participation. Group children by age when using the equipment. A good rule is 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.

Number of Children

Talk with the rental company about the number of children that will be in attendance. The company can help with choosing the right size. Each bounce house has an occupancy limit.

Insurance

The individual’s insurance policy may not cover any incidents involving a bounce house, so make sure the rental company is insured. If the company has pricing that’s too good to be true, seek a bounce house elsewhere.

Contracts

Renters will need to sign a waiver indicating they’ll be responsible for the equipment and how it’s used while at their location. The rental company should always provide clients with a written contract spelling out all the details of the rental.

Inspections

Renters have the prerogative of examining the bounce house for any rips, tears or other damage and it should be firmly anchored to the ground. If any damage is detected or tie-downs aren’t employed, don’t sign the paperwork.

Supervision

An adult should be on duty at all times to ensure safety and that the proper number of children are using the bounce house. In the event of high winds or inclement weather, power to the unit should be discontinued and children evacuated from the bounce house. Never allow youngsters to use the equipment during those conditions.

Things to Consider when Renting an Inflatable Besides Cost

Inflatable entertainments offer hours of fun for kids and adults. Individuals often look at the cost of the rentals as a primary consideration, but there are numerous other factors to think about. The following are other essential considerations of which individuals should be aware of before deciding on a rental company.

Safety

The safety of the inflatable and users should always be the No. 1 priority. Individuals should receive operating instructions and a list of safety precautions pertaining to occupancy and usage. The equipment should have no signs or wear or patches.

Cleanliness

Rigorous anti-bacterial and anti-viral cleaning should be standard procedure after every rental is returned to the company to prepare it for the next person. When the inflatable is delivered, a company employee should have additional cleaning supplies on hand. Don’t be afraid to ask the company what sanitation procedures and precautions they employ, along with the frequency.

Delivery and Pick up

The rental company should provide delivery and pickup services, along with a complete setup. An inflatable should be user-ready when he/she is done.

Set Up Location

Individuals renting an inflatable should know how much available space they have in which to set up the inflatable. Each inflatable has specific space requirements and may not be appropriate for every location. Trees, stumps, gravel, roots and stumps will have an impact on the set up location. Be sure and let the company know about any narrow gates or access points, along with potential obstructions.

Utilities

Another concern is underground utilities. The rental company will need to anchor the inflatable to the ground and that requires knowledge of where underground utility lines run. The company will need to send someone to stake out the lines and mark them before the inflatable can be installed.

Supervision

Every inflatable should have ample supervision, especially when children are using it. Individuals should find out if the rental company provides an attendant or if a responsible adult will need to be assigned to perform the task.

Safety Reviews

It’s always a good idea to take the time to investigate and read user reviews about the company and specific products they offer.

Insurance

If an accident or injury occurs to a guest or the person delivering the inflatable, it may or may not be covered by a homeowner policy. The same is true for businesses and other organizations that rent the equipment for fundraisers and similar purposes. Before renting any inflatable, find out if accidents and injuries are covered for inflatables and/or the rental company’s liability responsibilities.

4 Things Kids Love at a Party

Kids love parties and everyone wants their child’s party to be a memorable occasion. While kids love games, it’s not always the best option for very young children that don’t understand the concept of only the winners receive a prize. There are other ways to ensure everyone has a good time and the following are four things that every kid loves at a party.

Animals

South Florida is home to a variety of zoos and conservancies that hold educational sessions where youngsters can see wildlife and exotic animals up close, while remaining completely safe. There are also numerous companies and organizations that will bring a petting zoo of popular farm animals to homes. Always be sure to research private companies to ensure animals are treated humanely and ethically and appropriate safety precautions are observed.

Bounce House

An inflatable bounce house will keep youngsters so occupied they may not want to come out for ice cream and cake. While stand-alone bounce houses are available, they’ve also evolved. Bounce houses are offered for toddlers to those with light and sound systems appropriate for tweens. Some are also equipped with inflatable animals to play with and basketball hoops. There are models to match any interest or party theme.

Magician

Magic is universally mesmerizing and entertaining for all ages. It’s important to seek a magician that specializes in magic for the appropriate age group. The same slight-of-hand that will awe a five-year-old won’t necessarily find favor with a 12-year-old. It’s a good idea for individuals to look for videos of the magicians they’re considering, obtain a background check, and find out if they’re insured. Look for someone that has been in business for several years.

Waterslide

Kids love slides and water – put them together and it’s a winning combination. Best for older youngsters, there are water slides of varying heights and individuals can also choose 40 ft. monster water slides with one or two lanes for double the fun. The slides can be used as stand-alone amusements and for those with a home swimming pool, some can be set up to deposit guests directly into the pool.

What to Consider when Renting a Bounce House

Bounce houses are one of the most popular attractions for events ranging from backyard parties to business grand openings. They provide hours of fun and entertainment for kids, but there are a few things that everyone should consider to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for those that will use it.

Age Limits

Bounce houses and similar inflatables are best used by youngsters age 3-12 only for their own safety. Children younger than three will have trouble getting out on their own, while older kids will typically prefer other types of entertainments. There are also weight and height concerns to consider.

Contracts

A written contract is a necessity. It spells out the pricing, pickup and drop-off times. Individuals should receive a copy of the contract prior to the delivery.

Inspection and Cleaning

Individuals should definitely inspect the bounce house for damage prior to signing when it’s delivered and set up. If there is a problem, the rental company should be notified, allowing them to come up with a solution. Signing without inspection means the individual is accepting it as-is and the company isn’t responsible.

It’s not unreasonable to ask the delivery person to wipe down the inside of the bounce house or to ask them if it’s been done. Good companies do this anyway, but it’s an excellent precaution to take.

Insurance

Don’t assume that homeowner or business insurance will cover any expenses if damage or an injury occurs. Individuals may need additional coverage. Make sure the rental company also has insurance. Their coverage is for unforeseeable incidents. The individual renting the bounce house will need to sign a waiver releasing companies from liability if the bounce house isn’t used properly or children aren’t supervised.

Size Matters

Before renting a bounce house, have an accurate count on the number of children that may be using it. A bounce house that’s too small won’t allow everyone to have a turn or play freely. An inflatable structure that’s too large is a waste of space and money.

Supervision

Youngsters should be under adult supervision at all times to ensure there’s not too any children in the bounce house at one time and that age groups are kept together. If inclement weather interferes, unplug all equipment and do not allow children to use it.
