TV’s Influence on Bounce Houses

Shows such as Wipeout and American Ninja Warrior have stolen the hearts of both athletes and enthusiasts throughout the country. Long after shows like these are gone, another form of competing will appear. These shows have great influence on the inflatable rental business since so many people love the obstacle course themes. Not only are these a great way to entertain your guests, they’re an excellent resource for aerobics and cardio activity making them the ideal athletic pastime. Take a look at this blog to learn more. How a Waterslide Can Help Burn Calories?

In a recent article written for the Lehigh Valley news located in New Jersey, reported a high-end fitness club with plans on incorporating a waterslide. Why would a wellness center include a waterslide? The question should be, why wouldn’t it? volcanoWaterparks across the country aren’t necessarily ideal for kids. Adults can benefit from these types of physical theme parks as well. After all, spending a day swimming, and climbing and even sliding down a waterslide can lend to some serious calorie burning activity. One person claims to have burned over 1,056 calories from a full day spent at a waterpark in Portugal.   Waterparks and waterslides in general help to tone all the major muscle groups. This exercise targets ABS and helps to improve cardio fitness, balance and stamina. Just 20 minutes of bouncing up and down, then climbing stairs and sliding back down can burn almost 400 calories. *The Title Boxing Club recently wrote a blog claiming that waterparks are an ideal way to lose weight. They also made remarks that performing the same activities on dry land isn’t as effective as it is underwater.   For children that tend to be a bit on the heavier side, can really benefit from a day of waterslide fun. While they’re playing and hanging out with their friends, they don’t even notice they’re staying active and becoming more in shape. Although Fitbit Trackers are not entirely water resistant, you could track with waterslides where you aren’t fully submerged in the water. The waterslides you find at events, such as kids birthday parties aren’t going to cause damage as long as you have one like the Fitbit Surge which is meant for water. Swimming in general can allow up to 413 calories to be burned in one hour. This is of course with someone who is around 130 lbs. or lighter. The heavier the weight is; the less calories are burned. Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise since it’s easy on the joints, low impact and much cooler than running in the hot Florida sun.   We found a good swimming calculator to help determine how many cals you are burning while swimming. Since waterslides aren’t quite the same, this calculator will be off. Add about another 20 calories for running, climbing stairs, treading water and then kicking legs, or any other movement you do when going up and down the waterslide. With all this information, one can only assume that waterside activities are aerobic and will help you lose weight. South Florida Bounce House Safety First

Everyone’s safety is always at the forefront at any event involving our rentals. It is our top priority that every one of your guests leaves with a smile on their face, because they had a great time. While we do our best to conduct a professional business, we also want our clients to know that we need to work together as a team to ensure everyone’s safety. This blog highlights some of the more obvious concerns that people will have and how you can be a happy and satisfied patron. With every rental and attendant will stay present during your event. That attendant will need to enforce that all the guests remember to follow bounce house rules. Roughhousing, fighting and other aggressive activity is tolerated. However, each person that participates is encouraged to use the bounce house as it is intended. Proper clothing is necessary at all times. Shoes are not permitted to be worn on any of the water slides, obstacle courses or bounce houses. This is primarily to prevent injuries from shoes. Wearing the proper gear will keep kids from unnecessarily being injured. When you live in a place like South Florida, you can be subjected to increment weather at a moment’s notice.  In some cases, it may be necessary to reschedule the event.  However, if elements such as lightning, hail or tornadoes are likely to be present the attendants will make the call to shut down the rental to keep everyone from being in the wrath of ‘Mother Nature’. Be sure to check the weather prior to the event to have extra insight. Germs are always present when at the mercy of the public.  Try to keep your children home if they aren’t feeling a 100%.  We know they may not want to miss the party, but it’s better than having them spreading illness among everyone at the party.  Keep in mind that South Florida Bounce goes through an extensive deep-cleaning after every rental. But, this isn’t going to keep your children from breathing.  It’s better to keep them home. Parental supervision is a must! We can’t stress this enough. If a parent can’t be present while their child is playing, then have them assign another adult over the age of 18 to be in charge.  It’s also a good policy to have the parent give consent by signing a permission slip giving the adult in charge the responsibility. South Florida Team Building for Little League

The foundation work for many individuals begins during Little League sports. Like many of us in the work force we must be involved in some type of teamwork with other employees for us to be productive. As parents were able to foster the skills necessary for our children to become successful. Many of life’s lessons may come from joining some type of athletic activity. What we couldn’t agree with that more. Here are some team bonding activities that you can expect will take place when introducing obstacle courses as a team event. By hosting a team bonding event you are encouraging your players to work as a collaborative theme. Fun activities allow the members to see things differently although seeking the same goal. Whether the team wins or loses is not the end result. However, the types of activities you should encourage would be motivation, communication, planning problem-solving and resolving conflicts. Socializing and making new friends allows people to be more productive in an office setting. While that may be true, this can also be valuable during Little League competitiveness. Competing against each other as a team rather than an individual will help the players bond. Other than bonding with one another each team player can be encouraged to come up with innovative and creative solutions so that their team is closer to crossing the finish line. Just as the coach has an assistant to help him when needed, teambuilding activities also allows a collaboration and a chance to become comfortable working together. South Florida Father’s Day Bloopers

Dad the Film Director Whenever my children are having a moment, my husband takes a picture or video. While that may seem ordinary for most proud parents, my husband’s point of view is to take photographs only when the children are misbehaving. Last Father’s Day my son Josh was having a meltdown because he didn’t want to go to grandfathers for dinner. Well Josh was ranting and raving my husband grabbed his cell phone and took a picture. As you can imagine this resulted in our son having escalated behavior. With giant crocodile tears streaming out of his eyes Josh asked my husband “why are you taking pictures of me?” In which my husband replied “so we can help you remember what a bad kid you are.” Dad the Dog Lover Last year my daughter Emily was begging us for a puppy. Much to our surprise my husband came home with two pit bulls that were puppies. I asked my husband why he brought home two dogs instead of one. He replied “They were buy one get one free!” Dad the Geographer While my husband was watching our children, he asked them several times to get ready for bed in which the kids weren’t listening. My husband Jerry informs them if they didn’t get ready for bed then God would send them to hell and then transfer them to Los Angeles. Although my children have never been to LA, they immediately listened. Dad the Philosopher After returning home from church on Sunday our son asked my husband, “when God punished Eve what did he make her become?” Hubby’s answer was “a housewife” Dad the Interviewer Our dad always likes to ask the funniest questions. Last week he asked my eight-year-old brother how he would make a marriage work? My brother’s answer was “tell your wife she’s beautiful even if she looks like a dump truck”. Dad the Comic Whenever we are last in our father’s care, he loves to do his version of a standup routine. Here’s a few of the jokes he likes to tell: “That woman so scary I’ve seen better hair on a brush.” Or “that woman so scary, I’ve seen better legs on a pool table”. Dad the Non-Chef Our dad loves to spend time in the kitchen. Space there’s only one problem, he’s not very good at it. We gave him a cookbook once and he looked puzzled. Our mom asked him what the problem was in which my dad replied “I can’t do anything with this cookbook.” My mother looking perplexed asked why. Dad pronounced “because every recipe begins the same way. It says take a clean dish and…”

South Florida Birthday Party Hacks

It’s safe to say that every parent wants their child’s birthday party to be special.  If you’re anything like the rest of us, you live by Murphy’s Law. That being said, at one point or another we’ve all had to resort to a little bit of hacking. Although hacking sounds like stealing private information from the Internet, being a hack means additional creativity. In this blog, we highlight some of our favorite birthday party hacks for you to try out yourself. Many of these ideas can be found in places like Pinterest. One creative way of making a hand washing station for your party involves a 5-gallon water cooler with spigot, to short bungee cords, a plastic paper towel holder with adhesive strips, and the utility bucket. Fill the water jug with water, place on the ends of a picnic table, remove adhesive strip on the back of the paper towel holder and stick onto the water cooler. Next, use bungee cords to secure paper towel holder in place. Place empty bucket to catch excess water. Place hand sanitizer or anti-batch soap and voila, you have a portable hand washing station. Looking for a new way to present healthy snacks such as veggie tray or fruit? These two hacks are super easy and will make you look like a hero. Add sliced fruit to skewers and serve in place of cake or less health-conscious foods. Remove and seed the tops of two Bell peppers and use for serving bowls for ranch dressing, in an effort to give your veggie tray a fresh presentation. Looking for the ultimate gift to give to your guests? Why not give them a puppy? Not a real puppy, instead place small stuffed animals that look like puppies in a white basket or a dog bed at the end of the party allow your guests pick the puppy of their choice. This is a great idea rather than giving gift bags or some other novelty idea. When you live in a place like South Florida, bugs a can be annoying, uninvited guests.  Keep the little pests out of drinks with decorative muffin tins. Use a hole punch and place a hole in the center bottom of the muffin cup, tip upside down over an 8-ounce glass, add a straw. Not only does the muffin tins keep the bugs out away, the presentation can match the rest of your party decor making it functional and beautiful. In addition to keeping bugs away, rather than serving ice cream use muffin cups.  Use one scoop per cup and serve to guests. This is the perfect solution for preventing ice cream from melting everywhere. Not only is this functional, it makes you look like a genius. Secondary to health and safety issues we’ve noticed some common complaints from parents and event planners that we thought we would mention. People like to bring these things to our attention and we would like to share them with you to put any doubt you may have out of your mind for good.

If you are renting a bounce house in South Florida, sure that you get a signed contract whether you’re renting from us or another company, it’s just good business. Know and understand the time schedules from set-up to tear down and make sure that’s included in your rental agreement. Sign it, date it and get copies.  We understand the day of your event can be very hectic, but we also understand that this is the responsibility of both parties to secure their copies. By making sure that we both have our own copies gives us both peace of mind.

Next, make sure that the size you’re getting is correct for your space requirements. Often times during parties the bounce house rentals get extremely busy, and the inventory can become scarce at a moment’s notice.  This issue can lessen your chances of getting another bounce house in the time of the party.
