  1. The Scorpion’s Tail — Noah’s Ark Waterpark, Wisconsin

Start as you mean to go one with this ride, as the fear factor ramps up from the word go.  In the safety of a clear capsule, the floor vanishes beneath you and the adventure begins as you take somewhere between 5-7 seconds to complete the 10 story, 400 ft loop and plummet towards the pool at the bottom.

  1. Twister and Speedy — Sonnetherme Lutzmannsburg Thermal Spa, Austria

Set in the beautiful surroundings of this peaceful, thermal spa, this waterslide is there to really shake things up a little.  With not one, but two of the world’s scariest waterslides on the same site, you can hurtle down a 460ft descent at breakneck speed on the Speedy, or throw yourself down the thrilling 660ft flume ride that is the Twister.

  1. Faser — Galaxy Erding, Germany

German engineering at its best can be found in this incredibly water ride that is classified into three levels and features over 20 separate slides.  The Faser is the fastest and most notorious with riders regularly achieving speeds in excess of 45mph.

Tucked away on the glamorous surroundings of Dubai, the Jumeirah Sceirah is a breathtaking tandem slide that completes its 360ft ride in just a few seconds at 50mph. Perfect for those who like to look their best when they fly down a waterslide.

  1. Leap of Faith — Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas

Set on the beautiful, relaxing islands of the Bahamas, this ride is anything but!  The flume ride throws you hurtling through a transparent tunnel, down into a shark-filled lagoon from 60ft high. Scary stuff indeed!

  1. Aqualoop — Terme 3000 Adventure Pool Complex, Slovenia

Coming in the top five fastest waterslides in Europe, the trail-blazing Aqualoop was also the first to include an exhilarating 360-degree loop. It is considered to be the world’s only truly looping waterslide, this one is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

  1.  Summit Plummet — Blizzard Beach, Florida

Beginning at a dizzying 120ft off the ground, the riders of this free-fall plummet along a 360ft flume, regularly reaching speeds of up 50 to 60mph. It may not offer quite a 90-degree angle, Summit Plummet is so steep that riders can’t see anything if they peer over the edge of the slide before they get down into position. Have faith, and just go!

Our final offering is something a little different.  There is no pool to land in, and you may not go mind-blowingly fast, but you will be sliding through the rugged mountains of Italy to be dropped from a great height straight into the Mediterranean Sea itself!  Amazing!

Great US Ski Resorts for Families

Taking a ski trip with the family is a great way to reconnect in the great outdoors, as well as take in some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.  A great ski resort will offer everything you need for every member of your family to have the most awesome vacation ever.  From toddler ski school through to black run and moguls, skiers of all ages and abilities will have enough going on to keep you all entertained all week long.

Keystone, Colorado

Often found sitting proudly at the top of all the ‘Best Family Ski Resort’ lists, Keystone has really thought about what makes taking the kids on a ski trip difficult and pretty much solved it. For example, trying to get the kids and all their gear from your room to the slopes, whilst carrying all your own stuff as well, can be a real slog. At Keystone, they’ve aced this by having loads of free ‘gear buggies’ everywhere. They’re mainly stashed near the (free!) car park. You just dump your gear, the kids’ gear and possibly the kids themselves into the buggy and pull it along behind you until you get to where you’re going. These problem-solving little vehicles are all over the park, so you don’t need to keep an eye on yours, just grab another one when you’re done later on.

The skiing is absolutely superb throughout the region and you and yours can enjoy gracing the slopes of Dercum Mountain, North Peak, the Outback and five Bowls offering skiing to suit all levels.

Beaver Creek, Colorado

Beaver Creek has an innovative way of keeping the kids warm as they master the nursery slopes. The Buckaroo Express, a dedicated gondola for the little ones, keeps them warm as they build up their skill levels and get to grips with the basics. Oh, and they give out free chocolate chip cookies at the end of the day to everyone, kids and grown-ups alike!

The many varied runs and beautiful Bowls offer ample opportunity for you and your little ones to improve their skills while enjoying some of the most beautiful winter scenery in the world.

Park City, Utah

Among the many benefits of Park City’s resort is its proximity to Salt Lake City’s airport. It’s just a short 35-minute drive from the terminal to resort, meaning your little cherubs won’t drive you crazy on that usually lingering last leg of the trip. It also means, if you have an evening flight, you can squeeze one last run in on the last day of your vacation.

They also happen to have an excellent ski school at Park City, with virtually no lines to wait in, as you check in on the snow and go straight from room to powder, which ought to satisfy the younger members of your troop.

Telluride, Colorado

Ask any skiing parent and they’ll tell you one of the hardest things about a ski vacation is getting the kids away from the breakfast table and out onto the snow. At Telluride, nearly all of the runs end up in the resort of the town, making it easy to get lodging with a ski-in, ski-out set-up. Your little adventurers can enjoy that very last pancake before stepping (or skiing) right out onto the powder!

There are also lots of great walks and a fascinating town to visit, all connected by gondola, making Telluride a beautiful and awesome family ski center.

How to Have Fun at Your Family Reunion

The Hurricane

This 40ft tall, 2 lane water slide is the biggest and baddest backyard inflatable you have ever seen.  Race your friends to the bottom, and take the final bend at speed, to see who splashes out victorious at the end.  Not for the faint-hearted, the Hurricane is one of our most popular inflatables.

The Twister Straight

As Florida’s largest straight water slide, this 40 ft monster is totally huge, dude!  Race against each other on this 2 lane slide, that will literally spit you out into a plunge pool at the bottom.  Hold onto your shorts as you speed down the slide, then climb the towering stairwell to do it all over again! How to Create A Great Party Playlist

Throwing the perfect party is not just about the venue you choose and the food you serve, it is also about creating the perfect playlist to have your guests dancing the night away.

Not sure how to do it?  Follow our advice on how to create a great party playlist.

Tailor your list to suit the occasion

If you are holding a family friendly event, chances are you can forego the banging EDM music and opt for something lower key instead.   Think about the atmosphere you are trying to create before you start thinking about the musical accompaniment and work from there.   A laid back, afternoons social for example is the perfect place for bringing out some of your favorite light jazz and old-school soul tunes, that will help to create a relaxing, friendly atmosphere where people can talk.

If you are planning on partying later into the small hours, add plenty of well-known party anthems at the start of the evening, to help get your guests in the mood.  As the evening goes on, increased the BPM to keep them dancing.  If it’s a seasonal affair, be sure to throw some Christmas tunes in to help everyone get into the spirit of things.

Mix it up

As the nominated DJ for your event, remember that variety is the spice of life. Throw in a variety of slow and fast songs, pop classics, country favorites and other musical styles to keep people interested.  Mixing current hits with old school favorites is also a great way to keep guests of all ages entertained throughout the evening.  You should also space things out evenly, so that you don’t get stuck on one style of music for too long at a time, and always throw in some crowd-pleasers. like Whitney, Britney, Madonna and Beyoncé to really get the party started.

Your Party, Your Playlist

Of course, you want to wow your guests with lots of lovely crowd pleasers, but never be afraid to throw a few of your favorites into the mix too.  Intersperse well known party tunes with some from your own personal playlist to create the perfect party sounds to keep your guests entertained, while still reflecting your own personality.  Don’t go overboard with obscure, one hit wonders though – remember this is a party after all, and not an opportunity for you to educate your guests in your own taste in music.

Review Your Choices Before the Big Day

If you really want to impress with your musical prowess, be sure to listen to your playlist in full at least a couple of times before the event itself.  Listen out loud through your sound system, not your headphones to get a feel for technical anomalies like changes in sound quality.  You should also be prepared to make harsh edits and cut out some songs completely if they don’t fit in with the final cut.  This way, you can create a fine-tuned playlist that will go down a storm.

Fun Food Machines – A Great Addition to Your Party

Get some invites printed out and let the neighbors know about your party.  Tell them when to arrive, where it is being held and important information like what they should bring with them – food, chairs, blankets, rugs, games etc. Be sure to put your name and number on the invite, so that your neighbors can call to ask any questions or offer to help.  You should also make sure that the invitation extends to the whole family – so be sure to confirm that kids are welcome too.

Winter Movies We Can’t Wait For!

Winter is a great time to go the movies.  Long dark nights are just right for date nights, family outings or a trip out with friends.  Before the madness of the holiday season sets in, treat yourself to a night at the movies to catch one of these December releases:

Ben Is Back

This time of year is perfect for a gripping drama and Ben Is Back doesn’t disappoint.   When the charming yet troubled Ben Burns returns home to his unsuspecting family one fateful Christmas Eve, it is down to his mother Holly (Julia Roberts) to save him from himself. While she welcomes her beloved son’s return, she quickly learns that he is still very much in harm’s way. The next 24 hours may change all their lives forever, and Holly must do everything in her power to avoid the family’s downfall.

Once Upon a Deadpool

This is a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 with new scenes and teen-friendly language making it safe for younger fans to enjoy. Adults will get the Princess Bride-like storytelling with familiar faces throughout the movie. This will be a limited engagement so be sure to see it while you can! In theaters December 12th.

Spider-Man – Into The Spider-Verse

In this movie about the web-slinging Marvel superhero, it’s Miles Morales who is swinging around New York City this time around. The teen gets some training from the original superhero Peter Parker and discovers that there’s a “Spider-Verse” out there with more than just one Spider-Man.

Aquaman

This is the latest film based on a DC superhero, that finally tells the full backstory of Arthur Curry, the half-Atlantean, half-human who is the rightful heir to the kingdom of Atlantis. Joining him as he tries to keep the peace between the underwater world and the surface world is Amber Heard as his love interest, Mera, and Nicole Kidman as his mother, Queen Atlanna.

Mary Poppins Returns

It is over half a century since Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke first starred in the wonderful Mary Poppins.  A family favorite since its first opened, the London nanny who carried everything in that carpet bag, has been a much-loved character for children the world over.  This new version stars Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda and is set in 1930s London, where the umbrella-wielding nanny returns to help the Banks family after a tragedy.

Bumblebee

As a prequel to the Transformers film franchise that began in 2007, Bumblebee is set 20 years earlier and follows the adorable autobot of the same name. Together with his new best friend, a girl called Charlie, the two must outrun a government organization known as Sector 7, led by Agent Burns (John Cena).  Along the way, they discover that Bumblebee isn’t the only Transformer on Earth.

Holmes and Watson

This re-telling of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson is probably the most light-hearted rendition ever made. Comedy duo Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly don their hats to become super-sleuths, as they attempt to stop an assassination attempt against Queen Victoria by rival James Moriarty (Ralph Fiennes).
